Educational Academy Havířov Ltd. (Vzdělávací akademie Havířov s.r.o.)
The Educational Academy Havířov, Ltd. (Vzdělávací akademie Havířov s.r.o.; further VAH) is the founder and a hundred-per-cent proprietor of:
- Hotel School and Business Academy Havířov, Ltd. (Hotelová škola a Obchodní akademie Havířov, s.r.o.),
- Specialised College Havířov, Ltd. (Vyšší odborná škola Havířov s.r.o.), and
- Gastronomic Centre Gastera Catering, Ltd. (Gastera Catering s.r.o.).
In 2005 VAH bought a complex of buildings in Tajovského Street (where the company have their headquarters) from the City Council of Havířov. The company has been busy preparing rebuilding of the complex, construction of a parking site as well as sporstgrounds. In cooperation with the Hotel University in Prague (Vysoká škola hotelová v Praze) VAH has been providing the operation of the University Institute Havířov, offering Bachelor Study Programmes for college graduates.

Hotel School and Business Academy Havířov, Ltd. (Hotelová škola a Obchodní akademie Havířov, s.r.o.)
Hotel School and Business Academy Havířov, Ltd. (Hotelová škola a Obchodní akademie Havířov, s.r.o.) was founded as the first private school in the region. Since its foundation the school has won a prestigious position among hotel schools in the Czech Republic. This is supported by the great rate of success of its students at various competitions, its graduates in professional careers as well as entrance exams at universities and specialised colleges.
The school offers pupils leaving basic schools four-year-study programmes in two very attractive specialisations finished by school-leaving exams (Maturita Exam):
- Hotel Services and Tourism;
- Business Academy
Students of Hotel Services and Tourism may specialise on Hotel Services or Tourism from the third year of their study.
Students of Business Academy may specialise on Trade and Business, Information Technology or International Trade from the third year of their study.
An extensive practical training in the Czech Republic or abroad is a part of the studies.
The school nowadays cooperates with foreign partners in Italy, Germany, Poland, France and Slovakia within the framework of EU projects.

Higher Vocational School Havířov, Ltd. (Vyšší odborná škola Havířov s.r.o.)
Specialised College Havířov, Ltd. (Vyšší odborná škola Havířov s.r.o.) is a private school with a tradition exceeding a decade.
It offers daily and extramural studies to the graduates of all types of secondary schools in following programmes:
- Gastronomy and Hotel Services;
- Tourism;
- Public Administration.
The daily study programme at the College lasts three years and is organised as a university-form study. The school year is divided into winter and summer terms, each finished with an exam period.
The entrance exam is performed as an interview with a special focus on communication skills in a foreign language (English, German, French, Russian) and motivation to tudy.
An extensive practical training at about 60 localities contracted by the school (lasting two weeks in the second, and eleven weeks in the third year of the study) is a part of the studies.
The extramural study programme lasts four years, and is also organised as a university-form study in winter and summer terms. Tutorials take place one day a week in the afternoon.
The study is finished with a Final Graduation Exam (Absolutorium). The graduate is certified a degree: DiS., a Diplomed Specialist in the field of their study.
Graduates of Specialised College may attend a university form of bachelor study in a shortened period (2 terms) in following specialisations:
- Hotel Services;
- Marketing Communication in Services.
A three-year daily bachelor study is being prepared to start in the school year 2008/2009.

Gastera Catering
GASTERA Catering was founded in September 2003 as a Gastronomic Centre of the Hotel School and Business Academy Havířov Ltd. which incorporates rich experience in providing catering. In September 2005 the independent company GASTERA Catering. Ltd. was founded, being headquartered in the seat of the Hotel School and keeping in close cooperation.
Within the framework of catering service, there is an offer of buffets, banquets, receptions and barmen services. The company also provides wedding receptions, feasts, celebrations as well as refreshment on ocassions such as business meetings, company presentations both inside and outside the area of the school.
The offer also includes preparation of conferences, seminars, symposia and other social and expert meetings and events for big or small numbers of participants.
The company background provides a school restaurant with a bar for 100 people and other specialised classrooms imitating a restaurant or a bar which may serve as lounges for 20–35 people.
